Måneskin 's performance ‘censored’ at VMA and wins award.
Last Sunday, August 28th, the MTV Music Video Awards (VMAs), which is one of the most irreverent and highest-rated audiences in the world of music, finally took place.
Måneskin's performance caused a frenzy on social media right before the announcement: the band was nominated for 3 awards: Best Alternative Video, Group of the year and Best New Artist. In addition, they performed their new single SUPERMODEL, which recently reached and remained number one HIT among alternative songs in the United States.
The band won the award for "Best Alternative", where they competed for the song "I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE" (2021). Click here to check Måneskin’s awards throughout their career.
Måneskin was on spotlight in social media at the black carpet ‘s runway -, their performance was fully expected and caught the attention of spectators.
Below, you can check SUPERMODEL” at the VMAs, which was partially shortened and not broadcasted for a couple of minutes.
MTV didn't comment on what happened, and neither did the band. Netizens suggested the cuts were due to unexpected events with the bass player outfit, Victoria de Angelis. That can be verified in the uncensored/ completed version:
The full performance was broadcasted by the Russian channel “Ra Music Russia”.
Ironically, Victoria de Angelis had spoken about her body acceptance, moments before the black carpet, requesting people and fans to accept girls' body image as something normal.
So, what did you think of Måneskin's participation at the VMAs?
